在另一半的家長面前,做自己就好啦:D
恬恬在這一年多跟Fabian的媽媽見面次數不算頻繁,但是漸漸的發現我可以不用像在台灣一樣畢恭畢敬的很怕做錯事,在聖誕節期間有幾次要跟媽媽單獨相處,一開始還有點緊張問Fabian我到底要跟媽媽做什麼,怕跟媽媽單獨有點尷尬......
那我想說乾脆跟媽媽一起佈置家裡的聖誕樹或是幫她打掃家裡,結果媽媽竟然覺得她的家沒有整理好,而且聖誕樹早該在我來之前佈置好,所以婉拒了恬恬的幫忙,說可以讓她靜一靜自己完成所有事情～那我就自己回到房間裡頭用電腦,但是在台灣時我都會想說我要不要幫忙,就算她說不用了我是不是不該自己待在房間內,但事實證明媽媽真的不介意恬恬有自己的活動或事情要做,不用因為拜訪她後就要這裡幫那裡幫的～
尤其我餐後想幫她收碗盤或洗碗時,媽媽都會說不用做事去等著吃甜點或是去洗澡～有時我們在聊天時媽媽還會把我想意見該怎麼治Fabian,像是他不練習中文的話,就把中文書擺在我們床中間XDDD
現在媽媽寄得卡片或是email在信末都會提及到我,有種甜甜的幸福感♥ 跟另一半的家長相處,就是儘量做自己也不用太刻意取悅對方,基本該做的做到就好～當然以上經驗不代表全體適用喔！

When you meet your bf/gf's parents, just try to be yourself:)
This past one year I haven't met my bf's mom too often. But I realize something when I get along with his mom. I don't need to be afraid that I might do something wrong and she won't like me. During Xmas time, I had chances to stay with his mom alone. At first I was a little nervous what I should do with his mom.
I thought then maybe I could decorate the Xmas tree with her or help her clean up her apartment. However, his mom declined me becuz she thought that both things should be done before I arrived. Then I went to our own bedroom and played my computer. In Taiwan I always felt that it's not too nice or good to stay in bedrooms instead of hanging out with bf's parents. But his mom didn't mind that I stayed in bedroom doing my own things. I don't need to feel uneasy not helping her doing anything.
Sometimes after meals I wanted to wash or cleaned up the dishes. She always told me just leave them to her and I sit down to enjoy desserts. Sometimes we joked together how to deal with Fabian if he doesn't do something that he should. For example, if he doesn't study Chinese, then I should put the Chinese book between our bed hehehhehe
Now when his mom sends emails or postcards, she always mentioned me at the end. I feel very touched and happy about it:) When we get along with your bf/gf's parents, just try to be yourself and you don't need to try to please them intentionally. Just do what you normally do.

首先，只要你友善又真誠，大家都可以感覺的到的！所以認識新朋友最好的方法就是保持開放的心胸，還要勇敢地去克服在當地可能會遇到的社交和文化交流的障礙，然後更要懂得去欣賞、理解你所觀察到的不同的文化。
克羅埃西亞人真的都很好客、隨和、友善。所以只要邀請他們一起吃飯，或是更好的是和邀他們一起去喝點東西 (啤酒或是其他當地的小吃都很推薦)，然後向他們展示你友好的那一面就足夠讓你結交到一輩子的好朋友了！
不過我要提醒大家，通常克羅埃西亞人是很珍視友情的，我們很容易就可以付出真心，但是也很容易受傷，所以千萬不要把你的這個新認識的朋友的友誼視為理所當然喔。
通常我都自己一個人旅行，我覺得這是在異國認識新朋友最好的方式，因為這樣你就不會只跟來自你同一個國家的人混在一起。我通常都會表現出我對於當地文化的興趣和欣賞，然後盡可能地去瞭解更多。大家通常都會很樂意跟別人分享他們自己的文化。還有，如果你到了一個新環境，盡量到處走走看看，多參加一些不同的活動，和當地人一起吃頓飯或喝喝東西，通常在一點點酒精的幫助下，大家都會更熱情友善 (當然，你不需要喝得爛醉)。所以根據我的個人經驗，我建議可以試著晚上的時候去當地的小酒館或是類似的地方和當地人聊聊喔！(翻譯)
Firstly, people sense if you're friendly and sincere so the best way to meet new people is to be open-minded, brave enough to overcome possible local cultural or social obstacles and show your appreciation for the culture you've just found yourself in.
My countrymen are very hospitable, easy-going and friendly so simply joining them over a meal or even more preferably over a drink (beer or local stuff will do very nice) and showing your friendly side will enable you to make friends for a lifetime. Usually, Croatians cherish their friends so they can easily get attached and easily get hurt. Never take your newly-made friends for granted!
Usually, I travel alone. It's the best way to know people in different countries, because you're not bounded by your group. I always show my interest and appreciation for local culture and try to find out more. People like to share their own culture with other people so they are always more than happy to introduce a newcomer into their own culture. Also, you explore the new environment, move around, go to different activities, join people for a meal or a drink. People get more friendly when they are slightly encouraged by alcohol (you don't need to get wasted, of course) so from my own experience I advise going out in the evenings into local pubs or similar places. Mateja鼓勵大家保持開放的心胸，勇敢跨出第一步去和不同文化的人互動！我覺得不管和哪一個國家的人互動，都別將這種短暫的友誼視為理所當然，當對方願意為你做事的時候，一定要大方地表示感謝，並找機會回饋給對方喔！她常常說 "Alcohol connects people." (酒精把人串在一起)，如果會喝酒的人，應該很容易跟克羅埃西亞人變成朋友喔！
我到歐洲也發現歐洲人喝酒的觀念跟台灣人不太一樣，偷偷看了一下其他歐洲朋友的分享，都有提到"啤酒"這個東西喔！該不會人助旅行那個關鍵的鑰匙就是「啤酒」吧！之後有機會再聊聊歐洲人請客的規矩。讓我們一起期待更多的分享！
